Sea Eagles soar to the top of the table

Gee, the Roosters did not stay on top for long.
How can a side that has won four straight matches fall out the way they did at Brookvale this afternoon?
There were mistakes galore for Brad Fittler's men today and it turned out to be a performance full of regret.
From the opening whistle, the Roosters were impatient in attack and defence. Their respect for the quality of the opposition infront of them non- existant.
The end result - a near flawless performance from the Sea Eagles as they kept the Sydney side in their own trenches for most of the game.
Just don't go to Bondi now and mention Manly because their name is now feared, compared to the likes of South's and the Bulldogs.
In their last two meetings, Manly have inflicted a combined total of 108-0 against their Eastern Suburbs counterparts.
It seems from today's performance, the chooks have not yet learned from the mistakes that hurt them dearly against the same opposition last season.
The performance was reminscent of men against schoolboys. Just three hours earlier, this clash was expected to be close - raise a few eyebrows perhaps.
In the end, the Roosters were left with a foul taste that could've put Gordon Ramsay in a coma. They were outplayed, outgunned and outmuscled all over the park, hence the 42-0 scoreline.
From a coach's perspective, Fittler had trouble guiding his troops. There is only so much an inspirational man can do, but it wasn't in effect today.
That result will give Freddy Fittler his first sense of chills in his young coaching career. He now must learn to control himself and figure how to use the wealth of talent at his disposal.
As for Manly, every breath and second they have at Brookvale Oval is a blessing to the football they play.
They played like men possessed and blew the chooks into submission.
Their backs were solid with Jamie Lyon, David Williams and Michael Roberston all having great games, while Matt Orford always seemed in control.
Their pressue never ceased and it forced the Roosters to quit the dependable football they have played so far this season.
Sea Eagles supporters had a day out today while Roosters fans witnessed a team that just threw their form away.
It's only so many times the Roosters lose by a significant margin, without there being drastic changes to the club. Roosters boss Nick Polits will not handle another loss this friday night against Penrith.
On their day, they are on the verge of a premiership but consistency has eluded them for the time being.
The Sea Eagles on the other hand are looking good material.
Despite a loss to the Dragons two weeks ago, Manly ignored the Roosters recent form and now reign supreme at the top of the ladder.
They are a team that play for each other and always attract a crowd at Brookvale. Their influence on this competition will be true right up to late September.
