Tigers and Eels what's it all about on a Sunday afternoon
June 13th 2008 09:09
For all people that embrace the game of Rugby League - report to ANZ stadium this Sunday afternoon.
All the little kiddies wanting excitement should sit on their parents laps, and revel in a new case of enjoyment when the Tigers clash with the Eels on Sunday.
Like a brand new bag of toys, both these teams will show people of all ages what it truly means to be entertained in the NRL. What else could possibly make more noise than two of the most open teams in rugby league?
You could touch on the Leichardt and Campbelltown faithful to give you an answer to that, but thats not a stab at David Gallop or the NRL.
Although people have gone psycho over the idea of this derby not being played in true suburbia, sometimes in order to be a true fan of the game, you must accept there are things beyond a persons control that he nor she can change.
But good god, despite the game being at ANZ, fans should not hold back on what should be a cracker of an encounter. Both the Tigers and the Eels posess the potential to glide to victories through the centre of the footy pitch.
Look at the players from both sides: Brett Hodgson, Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah for the Tigers. Feleti Mateo, Krisnan Inu and Luke Burt for the Eels. That alone sends out a recipe that even Gordon Ramsay himself could not turn down.
Fans of these great clubs know they play cool football, but its amazing to find how many of these people hardly no whats coming when the Tigers or the Eels have the footy in their hands. That good and that bad.
On their day, both these teams can skip through opposition much like Jessica Alba skips in a bikini. They can be beautiful to watch. On any other day, they can let rip as badly as a skunk covered in dung.
But when on their day, no two teams dance around better on a footy field than the two set to do battle on Sunday. For fans, it represents a chance to enjoy a beautiful day out, cruisin on the freeway and no doubt letting the hair blow ahead of a fine spectacle of football.
Whether your stressed out from work. Trying to unwind,i can assure you there will be no better place to be on a Sunday afternoon than at ANZ stadium. Better than being locked up, like in jail, not knowing what happened until one watches the delayed telecast at 4pm on Nine.
Who knows. Just when you start enjoying the telecast, a running man or woman, screaming down the street suddenly yells out the score, your afternoon ruined or made after that one moment. Its not the same.
Being at the game allows one to break down every moment. One can feel the intensity around them, despite the sounds. Everybody can lose themselves in the moment the game decides who it will crown victor.
Suddenly you smack back to reality. Awake after what was and will be one of the most intriguing battles between two of Sydney's most passionate clubs.
Everyone report to ANZ stadium on Sunday afternoon. It will be worth it let me tell you that now.
